Patna, Nov 27 (Inditop.com) About a dozen armed robbers looted cash and valuables worth Rs. one lakh from passengers on a train in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district, about 160 km from here, police said Friday. This was the second train robbery in the state within two days.

The robbers looted over two dozen passengers travelling between Kiul and Jhajha on the Ananya express train. They also fired shots in the air, injuring two passengers. The injured passengers were admitted to the railway hospital in Kiul for treatment.

Passengers who were looted lodged a complaint at Kiul railway station, 110 km from here.

“Armed criminals boarded the train at Jhajha railway station and looted cash and valuables at gun point from passengers,” a police officer said.

Train robberies have become quite common in Bihar. Armed robbers looted dozens of passengers on the Janseva express in Saharsa district Wednesday night. In August, a passenger was shot dead by a gang of five armed men while a dozen handicapped passengers were looted two months ago on another train.
