Bangalore, Nov 28 (Inditop.com) Several aspirants to seats in the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other B-Schools failed to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) here Saturday as computer servers crashed at some of exam centres.
Around 2,000 candidates were to write the test, which went online for the first time across India, in eight centres in the city on the first day of the exam spread over 10 days.
“It’s very disappointing. I had come fully prepared and could not write the exams as I failed to log in into the computer assigned to me. No one came forward to help me,” Mohini P., a candidate, told Inditop.
Candidates complained that either they failed to log in or those who logged in could not access the questions online.
The country-wide tests are being conducted jointly for the IIMs and other B-schools by US-based testing company Prometric.
The test is being conducted at 105 centres in 32 cities across the country. Students can appear in the test at these centres during the 10-day window.
There are around 1,800 seats in the seven IIMs at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow and Shillong.
Besides IIMs, some other reputed B-schools in the country give admission to students on the basis of CAT scores.
