Bhopal, Dec 6 (Inditop.com) Upset over being charged with possessing disproportionate assets, a 68-year-old retired chairman of the Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board (MPSEB) shot himself with his licensed revolver, police said Sunday.

B.K. Brahmankar shot himself at his home here Saturday. “The official left two suicide notes – one addressed to the police and the other to his family members,” a senior police officer Rajesh Bhadouria said.

While in the first note, Brahmankar urged the police not to trouble his family, in the second note addressed to his son, the official cited the court cases pending against him as the reason for the extreme step.

“He has written that he was upset as he had to attend court hearings in Jabalpur repeatedly and couldn’t go to meet his son in America,” said Bhadoria.

The cases of alleged irregularities had come to fore during his service time in 1997 when the Lok Ayukta raided his house and recovered cash and valuables disproportionate to his known sources of income.
