Indore, Dec 6 (Inditop.com) At least two workers were killed and six were in a critical condition after inhaling a gas that leaked out at the pharmaceutical plant they worked for in this Madhya Pradesh city, police said Sunday.
The incident took place at Rinilife Science Private Ltd late Saturday, police said, adding the gas had leaked in the production unit of the company.
“The gas leaked at the factory’s production unit killing two workers instantly while six fell unconscious. They were immediately rushed to a local hospital where there condition is said to be critical,” an official at the Indore police control room said.
The policeman, however, refused to divulge the nature of the gas that leaked or the chemical that was being used at the factory, saying, “Senior police officials have gone to the spot and investigation into the incident is on.”
The deceased have been identified as Subhash Pal, 28, and Dinesh Borana, 30.
The deaths comes within days of the state capital witnessing the 25th anniversary of the Bhopal gas tragedy when tonnes of lethal gas leaked out of a now defunct Union Carbide pesticide plant, killing over 3,500 people instantly and maiming thousands for life.
