Kollam (Kerala), Dec 12 (Inditop.com) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Abdul Nasir Maudany, who has been linked to T. Nazeer, the alleged south India chief of Pakistani terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) who has been arrested, Saturday accused the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of plotting against him.

He, however, said he would cooperate with the ongoing enquiry against Nazeer.

“This is a conspiracy planned by (state Congress unit chief Ramesh) Chennithala and the BJP to pin me down. He is worse than (Gujarat Chief Minister) Narendra Modi and is now playing the Hindu card against the Muslims and that is why he and the BJP are now against me,” Maudany contended.

Chennithala denied the charges.

“Neither the Congress nor I are against Maudany. Terrorism has to be rooted out at any cost and in that, there is no politics. If Maundany is innocent, what does he have to fear?” Chennithala asked while speaking to reporters here Saturday.

Maudany, who was undergoing ayurvedic rejuvenation therapy at Kozhikode along with his wife, left halfway through the course after the Kerala Police Friday indicted his wife in the 2005 Kalamassery bus burning incident and the high court refused to stay her arrest before her plea for anticipatory bail is heard Monday.

The couple reached Maudany’s stronghold Mynagapally late Friday night.

In the PDP stronghold of Alappuzha, Maudany’s supporters took out a march Friday.

“At no cost will we allow anyone to take Maudany for questioning from this place. If police comes here to take him, then they will have to step over our dead bodies to reach near Maudany,” PDP’s Kollam district chief M. Shah said.

Meanwhile, Nazeer and his accomplice were taken to a few places at Kannur as part of the joint investigation of the Karnataka and Kerala police into the 2008 Bangalore blasts, while three people were arrested at Kochi friday night.

The trio are said to have links with Nazeer. With these arrests, the total number of people who have been picked up because of their alleged links with Nazeer has gone up to eight.
