Kolkata, Dec 14 (Inditop.com) The death toll in Sunday’s bus and truck-trailer collision in West Bengal rose to 21 Monday after two more people succumbed to their injuries, police said. At least 22 people have been injured in the accident.
The incident took place at Kulgachia in West Bengal’s Howrah district, police said.
The 22 injured in the accident are still in hospital. At least 12 of them are serious, police said.
The accident occurred on National Highway (NH) 6 Sunday night as the driver of the 10-wheel trailer suddenly changed lanes on the Mahishlekha Bridge and collided with the Gadiara-bound bus from Howrah.
Twelve bodies were recovered from the spot, while seven others died in hospital Sunday night.
The dead included two women and a child, a police officer said.
The injured are being treated at the Uluberia sub-divisional hospital and Bagnan rural hospital.
