Patna, Dec 17 (Inditop.com) At least 15 Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) workers and leaders, including four Bihar legislators, were injured as police used batons to beat back the party’s “Dalit Ekta” march to the state assembly here Thursday.

LJP leaders alleged that police used force to suppress the protest against the Nitish Kumar government’s policy to “divide Dalits”. However, police said that the LJP procession had violated prohibitory orders that banned gathering of four or more persons while marching towards the Bihar assembly.

Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan, who led the march, later told media persons that the people’s voice cannot be suppressed by force.

“The LJP will continue to expose the state government’s bid to divide society in the name of Dalits and Maha-Dalits,” he added.
