New Delhi, Dec 18 (Inditop.com) More than 1.34 lakh fake notes were seized till September this year but there are no estimates of counterfeit currency in India, a minister said Friday.
“No estimates are available on fake currency notes in circulation,” Minister of State for Finance Namo Narain Meena told the Lok Sabha.
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), 1.34 lakh fake notes of various denominations were seized till September this year, while it was 2.17 lakh in 2008, 2.31 lakh in 2007 and 2.5 lakh in 2006, Meena added.
