Pune, Dec 23 (Inditop.com) Sixteen-year-old Chikkarangappa opened up a two-shot lead after the second round of the Lalit Suri Western India Junior Golf Championship at the par-71 Poona Club Golf Course Wednesday.
Chikkarangappa returned a card of two-over 73, to total six-over 148 for the tournament.
Ashbeer Saini moved into lone second place in Category A, a couple of shots back at eight-over 150 after carding a round of three-over 74. Ankur Chadha is in third place, another two shots back while overnight leader Trishul Chinappa slipped to tied fourth alongside Sayed Ahmed after shooting 79.
In Category B (U-15), Delhi’s Honey Baisoya extended his lead after improving on his first-round score by one shot to shoot 75, and at nine-over 151, is three ahead of Rahul Ravi, who made a jump up the leaderboard with a round of two-over 73.
In Category C (U-12), Piyush Sangwan held on to his lead but it was narrowed down to just three shots by Viraj Madappa who started the day five shots back. With a round of 77, Sangwan totals ten over for the tournament while Madappa is at 13-over 155.
Category D (U-10) players also teed off Wednesday and it went along expected lines as Karandeep Kochar opened up a 11-shot lead after carding a round of five-over 76.
In distant second place is Jaiveer Singh, who shot a round of 11-over 87.
