New Delhi, Dec 25 (Inditop.com) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called a meeting of its newly elected Jharkhand legislators at Ranchi Saturday to elect the legislative party leader.

BJP sources said that party leaders Anant Kumar and Karuna Shukla will attend the meeting as central observers.

Karuna Shukla is party incharge of Jharkhand. The state threw up a split verdict in the five-phased poll to the 81-member assembly, counting for which was held on Dec 23.

The meeting comes amid speculation that BJP is moving closer to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to form a government in the state. The alliance of BJP and Janata Dal-United won 20 seats in the assembly polls.

The JMM won 18 seats while All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won five seats each. The Congress-Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Progressive alliance won 25, while the other eight seats went to smaller parties and independents.
