Bhopal, Jan 1 (Inditop.com) The Congress Friday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Madhya Pradesh government of proposing to promote “incompetent and ineligible” officers from the state services to the Indian Administrative Services (IAS).
The party also urged the central government not to accept the list of officers proposed by the state government.
“While competent and honest officers have been neglected, ineligible and favourite officers are being promoted by the powers that be for personal gains,” Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) spokesman K.K. Mishra told Inditop.
“If the existing list of corrupt and incompetent officers was not cancelled forthwith, the MPCC would approach the Madhya Pradesh High Court through a Public Interest Litigation and get justice done to the aggrieved hard working officers who have been overlooked despite having unblemished service records,” he added.
Mishra asserted: “There has been transaction of huge money amounting to Rs.3-5 crore (Rs.30-50 million) to get the names of corrupt and incompetent cronies’ names included in the final list for approval of IAS cadre by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC).”
The Congress leader alleged that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and five of his ministerial colleagues — Finance Minister Raghavji, Commerce & Industries Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Jail Minister Jagdish Devda, Water Resources Minister Jayant Malaiya and Women & Child Development Minister Ranjana Baghelwere — were directly involved in violating the set norms of selection for IAS cadre.
