Agra, Jan 3 (Inditop.com) A slight drizzle Sunday afternoon forced visitors to the Taj Mahal, who had come to enjoy a longish weekend, to run for shelter.

The Taj and other monuments in Agra witnessed an unprecedented holiday crowd since New Year’s eve last week.

The small budget hotel owners are upbeat and hoping to have a “great season this year till Holi and then the Commonwealth Games promise to bring in more crowds,” says Sandeep Arora, owner of Kamal hotel in Taj Ganj area.

The falling temperature and the drizzle have been welcomed by farmers.

Ravi Singh, a farmer of Barauli Ahir block, said: “The drizzle is good for wheat. But if there’s frost, it could impact potatoes and vegetables badly. The easterly wind blowing right now could also affect mustard crop.”
