Bhubaneswar, Jan 6 (Inditop.com) Cold wave conditions continued to paralyse normal life in Orissa with several places Wednesday recording minimum temperatures of less then 9 degrees Celsius, officials said.

The temperature at Phulbani town in Kandhamal district was 6.6 degrees – the lowest in the state, an official of the Bhubaneswar meteorological centre told Inditop.

The other places recording minimum temperatures of less than 9 degrees included Sundergarh (7.4), Bolangir (7.5), Sambalpur (7.6), Baripada (8.4), Koraput (8.5) and Angul (9), he said.

The coastal towns of Puri, Gopalpur, Paradip and Balasore, however, recorded higher minimum temperatures of 15.5, 15.6, 15.1 and 10.8 degrees, respectively.

The state capital Bhubaneswar and its adjoining Cuttack city recorded minimum temperatures of 14.4 and 13.8 degrees, respectively.

Severe cold wave conditions prevailed at isolated places.

The cold wave will continue to prevail over some parts of interior Orissa during the next 24 hours, the official said.

Phulbani recorded the season’s lowest of 4 degrees Sunday.
