Chennai, Jan 9 (Inditop.com) Actor-turned-politician Vijaykant’s party DMDK has decided to explore alliances with like-minded parties with an eye on the 2011 assembly elections.
In a meeting held here Saturday, the DMDK authorised Vijaykant to carry out alliance negotiations with other parties.
In the recent by-polls held for the state assembly, the DMDK suffered serious defeats with its candidates failing to secure sufficient votes to protect their deposits.
During the parliamentary elections last year, the party explored an alliance with the Congress but the talks failed.
