New Delhi, April 22 (Inditop) As many as 31 students of a government-aided school in the national capital fell ill after they ate school-provided mid-day meal Wednesday, police said.
The incident took place in Baba Nebraj School in south Delhi’s Jal Vihar area, police said.
“Some of the students reported nausea and started vomiting while others reported of stomach pain. Thirty-one among them were immediately rushed to Safdarjung Hospital,” a police officer said.
All the students were discharged after medication and it appeared to be a case of food poisoning, hospital authorities said.
“The food items have been sent for testing to ascertain the cause of students falling ill. We will take proper action after the results of the tests are out. We have already issued a notice to the service provider who supplied the food,” Director of Higher Education Chandra Bhushan said.
