London, Jan 22 (Inditop.com) Oscar-winning British director Danny Boyle is taking a break from movies to direct a play after two decades – he’s signed up to direct a West End production of “Frankenstein”.

Contactmusic.com reports the play is based on the novel by Mary Shelley. The play will begin its run in late 2010 at the National Theatre here.

Boyle began his career directing plays, including a stint at England’s famous Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in the 1980s.

He moved into films with British crime thriller “Shallow Grave” in 1995 and his rising fame in Hollywood culminated with the coveted best director Oscar last year.
