New Delhi, Jan 25 (Inditop.com) The number of undertrials in jails across the country will be reduced by two-thirds within six months, Law and Justice Minister M. Veerappa Moily said Monday.

“Of the undertrials, roughly about 200,000 have been in jail for several years essentially because of delays in the justice delivery system,” Moily told reporters at a press conference.

He was speaking on the bid to ease congestion in jails as part of the judicial reforms process.
