Kolkata, Jan 25 (Inditop.com) A leader of West Bengal’s ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) was Monday shot dead by suspected Maoist guerrillas in the state’s West Midnapore district.

Police said Duliram Sinha was attacked when he was stepping out of his home in Chandbila village, about 200 km from here. He was killed on the spot when Maoists fired at him from close range, a police official said.

The body lay on the road for hours as the villagers were too scared to move it. It was moved to the police station after a large posse of policemen reached the village.
