Lucknow, Jan 26 (Inditop.com) After days of damp and misty mornings, a pleasant wintry sun Tuesday greeted the residents of this Uttar Pradesh capital. The weatherman said early mornings will continue to be foggy but sunshine will make the day better.
Though the fog lifted at around 9 a.m. in Lucknow, Varanasi, Allahabad and Kanpur, icy winds continued to grip Uttar Pradesh.
“As far as fog is concerned, people will definitely get the much-awaited relief. However, there will be no significant change in temperature in most parts of the state,” Met Director J.P. Gupta told Inditop.
A western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from Jan 27 onwards and adjoining northern plains from Jan 28.
Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall might occur over the western Himalayan region by Jan 30. Scattered thundershowers might occur over the adjoining plains thereafter.
Lucknow recorded a minimum temperature of 4.4 degrees Celsius Tuesday, Varanasi 7 degrees Celsius, Sultanpur 6.6, Bahraich 8.1, Gorakhpur 6 degree Celsius.
Farukkhabad remained coldest with a minimum temperature of 3.8 degrees Celsius.
