New Delhi, Jan 26 (Inditop.com) The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a postgraduate diploma programme, Participatory Adult Learning Documentation and Information Networking (PGDAE), in adult education in collaboration with Unesco and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

“The innovative programme aims at promoting professional development and capacity building in the area of adult education with a focus on participatory adult learning, documentation and information networking,” said an official statement here.

“PGDAE is open to all bachelor’s degree holders and personnel already working or involved in adult education, like functionaries of different programmes of literacy and adult education, staff of directorates of adult/mass education, state resource centres, community colleges and others,” the statement added.

“The holders of this diploma will be eligible for employment in projects implemented by the central or state governments, universities, colleges and NGOs, amongst others,” it said.

The fees for the one year programme, to be taught in English, is Rs.5,000. Admission to PGDAE are open for the July 2010 session.
