Chennai, Jan 28 (Inditop.com) City-based tyre major MRF closed its first quarter ended Dec 31 with a profit of Rs.119.41 crore on a turnover of Rs.1,656.84 crore, against a loss of Rs.38.3 crore on a turnover of Rs.1,351.97 crore posted during the corresponding period the previous year.
The company’s financial year ends Sep 31.
MRF filed its results with the stock exchanges Thursday.
During the period under review, the company’s interest cost came down to Rs.11.72 crore from Rs.22.79 crore spent during the corresponding period the previous year.
However, the employee cost went up to Rs.83.06 crore during the quarter as against Rs.69.89 crore spent in the year-ago period.
