Dharamsala, Jan 30 (Inditop.com) “The Sun Behind the Clouds: Tibet’s Struggle for Freedom”, a film on the life of spiritual leader the Dalai Lama and his people, will be screened in Mumbai and Delhi next month.

“Delhi-based filmmakers Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam will screen the documentary film in Mumbai Feb 7 as part of the international competition section of the Mumbai International Film Festival at the National Centre for Performing Arts and in New Delhi Feb 12 at the India International Centre,” says a post on the website of the Tibetan government-in-exile.

The documentary by Tibetan filmmaker Tenzing Sonam and his Indian wife Ritu Sarin won “audience documentary favourite” at the 21st Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival that concluded in California Jan 18.

The documentary showcased the 2008 protests in Tibet, the international response to them, the Beijing Olympics, and the breakdown of talks between the Dalai Lama’s envoys and the Chinese government in November 2008.

The film also portrays the Dalai Lama’s efforts to find a peaceful resolution to the Tibet issue based on dialogue and the impatience of a younger generation of Tibetans.
