Mumbai, Feb 3 (Inditop.com) Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan said Wednesday that she had no plans to quit the party and would like to finish her term in the Rajya Sabha “gracefully”.

“I have spoken with my family and I would like to continue in the Rajya Sabha. I have six more months to go and I want to finish it gracefully. I can’t leave the party as well because I want to finish my term,” Bachchan told NDTV, a day after her close friend Amar Singh was sacked from the primary membership of the SP.

“If they want me to resign, (I’ll resign) only if Mulayam Singhji comes upfront and asks for my resignation,” she added.

The actor-MP described herself as an upfront and straightforward person who would never contest elections.

“I can’t handle politics at all. I am a very straightforward person. I would rather be a good person than good politician. In politics, even if you have an opinion, you should have the quality to hide it. I can’t do this because I am very upfront.”
