Raipur, Feb 3 (Inditop.com) The son of a Lok Sabha member has been slapped with criminal charges for allegedly attacking a university lecturer who refused to mark him present on days he was absent, police said Wednesday.

Craig Mcleod, a fourth semester computer science student of Guru Ghasidas University, has been charged with causing hurt, criminal intimidation, obscenity and obstructing public servant on duty.

Guru Ghasidas University is a central university based at Bilaspur town, some 110 km from Raipur.

Top Singh Chhatri, a police officer of Koni area, said Mcleod was rudely talking to lecturer Chandra Prakash Tuesday “after he refused to mark his attendance for months of absence from the class”.

An IT department lecturer, Rajesh Mahule, stepped in and asked Craig not to insult Prakash.
