New Delhi, Feb 9 (Inditop.com) It will be another rainy day in the capital Tuesday, the weatherman said. While it may have brought along a chill in the air, the rain has not really pulled down the mercury level, with the minimum temperature six notches above average for this time of the year.

From Monday till Tuesday morning, the total rainfall recorded here was 14.8 mm.

“The rain in Delhi since Monday is because of western disturbances over Jammu and Kashmir. There is more rain in store today, but by tomorrow the weather will clear up,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told Inditop.

“Because of the cloud cover the minimum temperature was six degrees above average, at 15 degrees Celsius. The maximum is expected to hover around 23 degrees Celsius,” the official added.

The sudden change in the weather since the beginning of the week – especially since Sunday was the hottest Feb 7 in five years – took many by surprise.

“The weather has changed so drastically! It’s only natural that people, especially kids, will fall ill because of this,” said Anju Kumar, a home maker and mother of two.
