Chennai, Feb 13 (Inditop.com) Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi’s condition is improving as he undergoes physiotherapy at a hospital here, days after being injured in a road accident in Liberia, one of his assistants said Saturday.

“The minister is currently undergoing physiotherapy. His health is improving,” said V.N. Ajayan, additional private secretary to the minister. Ravi is admitted at the Madras Medical Mission Hospital here.

“He has been advised to walk a little every day. He is expected to be discharged from the hospital after a week,” Ajayan told Inditop.
Ajayan said though Ravi has not suffered any fractures, he has severe body ache.

Ravi met with a road accident in Liberian capital Monrovia last week during an official visit and was initially treated at the John F. Kennedy Hospital there. He was then air-lifted to Abidjan in Ivory Coast, from where he was was flown back to India in a special Indian Air Force flight Thursday.

According to sources, the car in which Ravi was travelling also had Shamma Jain, Indian envoy to Liberia, and both were injured.
