New Delhi, Feb 23 (Inditop.com) A city court Tuesday granted bail to two British nationals who were charged by police for plane spotting near the Delhi airport.

A metropolitan magistrate granted bail to the duo after furnishing a personal and surety bond of Rs.10,000 each.

The two, Stephen Hampston, 46, and Steve Martin, 55, were detained from Radisson Hotel near the Delhi airport last week after the hotel staff called the police about their activities.

A case under the Telegraph Act, Section 20 (read with Section four) was registered against them Sunday. If convicted, they will have to serve a prison term of up to three years, or pay a fine up to Rs.1,000, or both.

The British nationals, who are employed with the railways in Britain, were confined to the Radisson Hotel after arrest and were later shifted to the Lampur Detention Centre Feb 17.

Hampston and Martin were detained with hi-tech equipment, including a high-powered binocular. The equipment was used for recording conversation between the Air Traffic Control and the pilot.
