New Delhi, Feb 25 (Inditop.com) DMK leaders M.K. Stalin and Dayanidhi Maran Thursday met Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) general secretary Prakash Karat here, informed sources said.
Details of the meeting were not known. The CPI-M had severed ties with the DMK in Tamil Nadu before the Lok Sabha election last year and allied with the AIADMK.
DMK sources said Stalin, who is also the Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister, met Karat to condole the death of CPI-M leader W.R. Varadarajan, who was found dead in a lake in Chennai Sunday.
Stalin is here to invite Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to inaugurate the new Tamil Nadu assembly complex being constructed in Chennai.
