Mumbai, March 31 (Inditop.com) Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar has been fined $40,000 for failing to maintain the over rate during their Indian Premier League match against Kings XI Punjab Tuesday.

Mumbai Indians were one over behind the required rate after allowances were taken into consideration.

“It was Mumbai Indians’ second offence of the season and under the IPL’s code of conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, captain Sachin Tendulkar was fined $40,000 and each player in the team $10,000,” IPL said in a statement Wednesday.

Mumbai Indians defeated Kings XI Punjab by four wickets.
