New Delhi, April 3 (Inditop.com) Despite some rain a day earlier, the national capital continued to be hot Saturday, recording a minimum of 23.1 degrees Celsius, five notches above average for this time of the year.

“There were traces of rainfall yesterday evening. But the capital would still be warm Saturday. The sky is expected to be partly cloudy in the morning but would clear up in the afternoon,” an official at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

On Friday, Delhi recorded a maximum of 36.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 20.7 degrees, both three degrees above average.

According to the IMD, this year in Delhi, the month of March was the hottest since 1953.

The official added: “Today’s maximum temperature will touch 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum will hover around 21 degrees Celsius.”
