Mohali, April 3 (Inditop.com) Kevin Pietersen’s knock (66 off 44 balls) against Kings XI Punjab was his first half-century in Indian Premier League (IPL).

Pietersen, who was playing his first match for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) this season, was adjdged the Man of the Match after RCB beat Kings Xi Punjab by six wickets Friday night.

Other statistical highlights of the match:

Kumar Sangakkara (45 off 27 balls) recorded his highest score in the third edition of the IPL.

Sangakkara is the top run-scorer for Punjab in the IPL, aggregating 788 at an average of 30.30, including six fifties, in 31 matches.

Virat Kohli’s 42 off 26 balls is his highest in the third edition of the IPL. He has amassed 173 at an average of 34.60 in eight matches this season.

Robin Uthappa’s runs’ tally of 220 at an average of 36.66 in eight matches is the the second best after Jacques Kallis (371) for RCB.

Irfan Pathan’s tally of 39 wickets (ave. 25.15) in 36 matches is the second best in the IPL, next only to Rudra Pratap Singh, who has claimed 44 wickets at 23.88 runs apiece in 36 matches.

Bangalore’s triumph by six wickets is their fifth in eight matches in the 2010 edition of the IPL.

Manish Pandey (29 off 25 balls) is one of the three batsmen to have made 200 runs or more this year for Bangalore – 213 runs at an average of 30.42 in eight matches.

Manish has performed quite well in the IPL overall and his batting average of 42.33 is the highest for Bangalore.

During his innings of 16 off just five balls, Irfan Pathan completed 500 runs in the IPL – 507 (ave.22.04), including one fifty, in 36 matches.

With Shaun Marsh’s wicket, Vinay Kumar became the first bowler to capture ten wickets (ave.19.30) in seven matches for Bangalore this season.

Ravi Bopara (42 off 33 balls), is the first Punjab batsman to complete 200 runs in the third edition of the IPL, amassing 240 at an average of 34.28 in eight matches.
