Washington, April 7 (Inditop.com) For the first time, a group of Sikh American children attended the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House, a tradition at the executive mansion that dates back to 1878.
The Sikh Coalition, a community advocacy group, said it provided 30 tickets from the White House to Sikh children and their parents who journeyed to Washington from around the country, including California, Minnesota, Florida, New York City, New Jersey, Maryland, and the DC area, to represent the community.
They participated in a range of activities: an egg hunt, egg roll, sports, gardening, story telling, dance, healthy cooking, celebrity appearances and more.
The Sikh Coalition said it recognises the thoughtfulness and leadership of the Obama administration in hosting a national multicultural event that included Sikh families.
