New Delhi, April 8 (Inditop.com) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) Thursday approved raising the Himachal Pradesh government’s stake in the Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL) to 25.50 percent from 25 percent for Rs.40.94 crore.

It also decided to increase the offer for disinvestment in SJVNL from 41.09 crore shares of Rs.410.88 crore value to 41.50 crore shares worth Rs.415 crore.

“The approval has been taken to ensure successful disinvestment of the government of India’s 10 percent stake in SJVNL,” said Home Minister P. Chidambaram, briefing reporters about the CCEA’s decision.

SJVNL is a joint venture between the centre and the state government. At present, the centre holds 75 percent stake in the company.
