New Delhi, April 11 (Inditop.com) Singer-composer Shibani Kashyap, who came back into the limelight with her Indipop album “My Free Spirit”, has lamented the downfall in the pop industry saying it was time someone made a move to revive pop music.

“It is sad to see that pop music is losing its sheen and it’s time that someone has to make a move to revive the industry,” she told Inditop in an interview.

Shibani’s new album “My Free Spirit” includes an eclectic mix of songs which are topping the All India Top Pop Chart. She says she hopes that her new album might helps take a step towards reviving music.

“I am really excited and thrilled that my album is topping the charts. I have tried to dabble with every genre of music be it fusion, rock, hip-hop and pop. It is my endeavour to help revive music and I hope that my album does the needful.

She also urged other artistes to come forward and lend a helping hand towards the issue. “I hope other artistes also come forward, create awareness and save pop music from fading away.”

The new album contains nine tracks, two of which are composed by Shibani herself, and are titled “Alvida” and “Jane Kya Anjaam Hoga”. It also boasts of a disco number which is crooned by the Disco king’ Bappi Lahiri.

The song “Alvida” is a tribute to the innocent lives lost in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The video features popular television actors like Mona Singh, Karan Grover, Shweta Kesavna, Mini Mathur, Sandhya Mridul, Rahul Roy, Bhagyasri.
