Shimla, April 12 (Inditop.com) Rains in Shimla and other parts of Himachal Pradesh Monday brought temperatures down and welcome relief to the people, weather officials said.

“Shimla and other areas in the state experienced a mild spell of rain this (Monday) noon,” director of the Shimla meteorological office Manmohan Singh told Inditop.

He said the mercury dropped after the showers.

“The maximum temperature in Shimla fell by 2.5 degrees from Sunday’s 27.8 degrees Celsius after it got 0.3 mm of rain,” he said.

Dharamsala, the venue for the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches April 16 and 18, saw 3 mm of rain.

The maximum temperature in Dharamsala was 30.4 degrees Celsius as opposed to 33.2 degrees Sunday.

Similarly, Bhuntar in Kullu district saw a high of 25 degrees and Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded 32.9 degrees Celsius.

Una, the hottest town in the state, also saw a sharp decline in temperature. It recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius as against 41 degrees Sunday.
