New Delhi, April 26 (Inditop.com) After a few days of respite from the harsh heat, Delhi Monday recorded a maximum temperature of 41.8 degrees Celsius, four notches above the average. Weather officials said the city could see hot days ahead with the mercury likely to touch 43 degrees Celsius Tuesday.
“The maximum was 41.8 degrees Celsius, four degrees above average. On Tuesday, it would be partly cloudy with dust and haze. There are chances of thunder developments also but the day will remain hot. The maximum could touch 43 degrees Celsius,” said an official at the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
While the minimum temperature Monday was a degree above average at 24.4 degrees Celsius, the IMD expects this figure to hover around 27 degrees Tuesday. It added that rain is unlikely in Delhi in the coming days although it may be cloudy Tuesday.
On Sunday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 39.7 degrees, two degrees above average. The minimum temperature was 24.7 degrees, three notches above normal.
Early last week, scant rains brought temperatures down and gave mild relief from the unusually harsh heat wave conditions in the start of the summer season.
