Chennai, Dec 17 (Inditop.com) The 47-year-old city-based cement maker Chettinad Cement Corp has witnessed a “C” change.
The Rs.1,137-crore flagship company of the Chettinad group has decided to adopt a new corporate logo — a sea wave shaped “C” — dropping its nearly five-decade old logo that is a picture of Lord Nataraja of Chidambaram Temple, the dancing form of God Shiva.
According to the company, the wave-shaped new logo is modern and epitomises its sense of motion and growth.
Not agreeing that modernity has replaced divinity, managing director M.A.M.R. Muthiah told IANS: “There is the practicality aspect,” referring to the practice of loaders to stand on the cement bag that sports a god’s image while loading and unloading.
