Mumbai, May 2 (IANS) Air India announced Monday it would operate 106 flights daily on the domestic sector as per its contingency schedule for the next few days as the pilots strike entered the sixth day.

The 106 flights would be operated against the normal daily operation of 320 flights on the domestic sector, representing a curtailment of over two-thirds of its regular services.

AI’s operations for the next few days would include flights by Alliance Air, additional flights on wide-bodied B-777 and B-747 aircraft, Air India Express B-737 and the regular Airbus aircraft services, it said in a statement.

Meanwhile, AI operated all its 45 daily long haul services to the US, Britain, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea as per schedule.

Similarly, AI Express operated its 72 flights, Alliance Air operated 32 flights, offering around 29,000 seats, as per schedule today, the AI said.

Continuing 90 percent of curtailment of services on the domestic sector, AI managed to operate 40 domestic services out of Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and other centres Monday.
