New Delhi, Nov 4 (Inditop.com) Justice R.V. Raveendran, a member of the three-member Supreme Court bench that has been hearing the gas supply and pricing dispute between the two Ambani brothers, Mukesh and Anil, quit the case Wednesday.

Justice Raveendran abandoned the hearing after disclosing to the court that his daughter has been working for a Bangalore-based firm ABZ Partners, which provides consultancy to Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries on issues of global acquisition.

The judge said he came to know of his daughter’s relation with Reliance Industries only last weekend. He has been hearing the high-profile legal battle along with Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishanan and Justice P. Sathasivam.

He quit the hearing when Harish Salve, counsel for Reliance Industries, was to conclude his argument.

Salve was to resume his argument for the seventh day Wednesday. The matter was adjourned indefinitely for the formation of a new bench which will hear the case afresh.
