Chennai, Oct 30 (IANS) India’s Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB) Thursday granted additional time to the US based Apple Inc to file its counter in a case filed by iVoice Ventures from removal of iPhone trademark from the trademark registry.

Hearing the case here, the IPAB asked Apple Inc to file an application for condoning the delay and also serve its counter argument to iVoice.
The case was posted to Nov 20.
The American company had opposed iVoice’s move to register its iFon trademark in 2008. In response to that the Tamil Nadu based iVoice moved the IPAB seeking the removal of iPhone trademark from the trademark registry.
