Chennai, Jan 2 (IANS) Commercial vehicle-maker Ashok Leyland Ltd’s December 2012 sales declined by 19 percent as compared to the same period in 2011, the company said.

In a statement here, the company said it sold 7,299 units last month down from 9,048 units sold during the same month in the previous year. The sales were dragged down by poor demand in the heavy and medium commercial vehicles-segment.
Within the overall sales, the company’s small commercial vehicle Dost recorded good growth logging 2,069 units as against 1,099 units sold during December 2011.
