Mumbai, Nov 1 (IANS) Austrian Airlines Monday launched a direct service connecting Mumbai to Vienna with five flights a week.

The seven hours and 40 minutes flight from Mumbai to Vienna will be operating on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with departure time being 1.25 a.m. in Mumbai and arrival time at 5.35 a.m. in Vienna.

‘We expect strong demand. Compared to last winter, we are significantly expanding our long-haul capacity for our customers from India from five to 11 flights per week,’ said Andreas Bierwirth, member, Austrian executive board.

According to the airline, it will also be focusing on providing the Indian travellers with option to reach 130 destinations via Vienna, which is the airline’s main hub.

The airline also said that it has increased the frequency of flights from New Delhi to Vienna from five to six.
