Mumbai, Feb 2 (IANS) Two- and three-wheeler major Bajaj Auto Thursday reported an eight percent increase in sales for the month of January, which rose to 337,000 units from 313,583 units in the like period of last year.

Domestic sales grew by 5.15 percent to 220,879 units in the period under review from 210,057 units sold in the month of January 2011.
Exports in January increased 13 percent at 116,996 units from 103,526 units shipped out in the like period of 2011.
Segment-wise, motorcycle sales grew by seven percent in January at 294,439 units from 275,622 units sold in the corresponding month of 2011.
Commercial vehicle segment registered a sales growth of 14 percent at 43,436 units as compared 37,961 units sold in January 2011.
The company reported a consolidated sales growth of 15 percent for the fiscal at 3,670,268 units from 3,189,339 sold during the corresponding period of last fiscal.
Consolidated exports for the fiscal increased by 31 percent at 1,349,406 units as against 1,031,401 units in the like period of 2010-11.
