New Delhi, Jan 10 (IANS) The cabinet Thursday approved upgrading of two highway projects under various stages of the National Highways Development Programme (NHDP) with a total outlay of Rs.5,652.03 crore.
The cabinet committee on economic affairs (CCEA) approved the development of the Baharagora-Sambalpur section of National Highway 6 and the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi section on National Highway 83.
The Baharagora-Sambalpur section will be developed as a four- and two-lane road on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis, with a total length of 368.20 km. It will cost Rs.3,636.43 crore.
The Patna-Gaya-Dobhi section will be developed as a four-lane road with a total length of 127.20 km.
According to a statement from CCEA, the project will cost Rs.2,015.60 crore and will be completed within three years after the contract is signed.
