New Delhi, Sep 12 (IANS) A delegation of Canadian entrepreneurs is currently here exploring business opportunities in the Indian renewable energy market which is growing significantly each year, the Canadian High Commission said Thursday

The delegation of 13 Canadian companies arrived in India this week to attend the 7th Renewable Energy India 2013 Expo and they are actively exploring business opportunities here, the high commission said in a statement.
The delegation comprises representatives from companies and universities like Ballard Power, Sea Breeze Corporation, Mag Power Corporation, BioCube Corporation, LM Technologies, New Energy Corporation, Hydrogenics, Canadian Solar, Fourth State Energy, Simon Fraser University and Dalhousie University.
These companies have expertise in solar power, hydrogen fuel cells, small wind, small hydro and waste-to-energy sectors. Some of them already have a foothold in India while others are exploring the Indian market for the first time, the statement said.
Canadian High Commissioner to India Stewart Beck said: “This is a great opportunity for Canadian companies to learn about the Indian renewable energy market, which is growing significantly each year. Canada’s strong interest to partner with India on innovation will further boost the scope of cooperation in the area of renewable energy.”
He added: “I strongly believe that the success achieved by the Canadian companies already operational in the field of renewable energy in India will attract more Canadian companies and help bolster two-way investments. I look forward to further collaboration with India to promote renewable energy and build a cleaner environment and an energy-secure future for our two nations.”
The 7th Renewable Energy India 2013 Expo is to be held in Greater Noida (Delhi NCR) Sep 12-14.
