Los Angeles, March 6 (Inditop) Chris Brown has been charged with assault and making criminal threats over his fight with girlfriend, pop star Rihanna, last month.
Brown, 19, is expected to appear in a Los Angeles court later Thursday and if found guilty, could face maximum of four years and eight months in prison, tmz.com reported.
The R&B singer was arrested following a row with the 21-year-old singer in a parked car in Los Angeles Feb 8.
He currently remains free on $50,000 bail.
The alleged attack came hours before the Grammy Awards, and both stars cancelled their scheduled appearances there. A leaked photo of the “Umbrella” singer showed her with a swollen face, cuts to her cheeks and lips.
