Kolkata, April 7 (Inditop) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is preparing a report on land acquisition norms to help the government come up with a uniform policy, protecting the interests of both the industrial and the agricultural sectors.
“There should be transparent land bank available in every state for the purpose of industrial set-up so that the government can assure of continuous tract of land for industrialisation,” CII president Venu Srinivasan told reporters here Tuesday.
The report would be ready by July and be submitted to the new government at the centre.
Later in the day, Srinivasan along with other CII members met West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee at the Writers’ Buildings here.
Emerging out of the meeting, he said the state would house an agriculture-industry conference in August-September, focussing on how to provide better output and better productivity of the agricultural area with industry cooperation.
West Bengal recorded 4 percent growth in agriculture for the last six years.
The CII has also expressed its keenness for skill development in the state for the chemical and steel industries.
It would also start a centre for excellence in the state.
