New Delhi, June 30 (IANS) International automotive major Continental said Wednesday it will increase its headcount by 30 percent in India this year.
The company said it will add more people to its payroll in the next five years.
‘This year we plan to increase research and development staff strength in India by 30 percent. We are keen to get on board qualified local engineers, both experienced and from campus,’ said Claude dGama Rose, managing director, Continental Automotives Components.
The company, which currently operates out of eight locations in India, including cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Manesar and Pune, and generates about 14 percent of its sales from Asia.
The company’s three automotive divisions generated revenues in excess of $18 billion – chassis and safety ($6.2 billion), powertrain ( $4.8 billion) and interior ($7.18 billion).
The company is spread in 46 countries with more than 130 locations and currently employs over 138,000 people.
