New Delhi, Dec 24 (Inditop.com) Key sectors of the economy grew 5.6 percent in November, according to Commerce Minister Anand Sharma.
“The six-core index has registered a growth of 5.3 percent in November 2009 as compared to 0.8 percent in the previous year,” said Sharma here Thursday while unveiling a draft of the comprehensive policy on foreign direct investment.
The month saw steel production increasing 11.7 percent, cement 9 percent, coal 3.3 percent, petroleum refinery products 4.9 percent and electricity generation by 1.8 percent.
Crude oil production, however, declined 1.6 percent.
The six core industries had grown 3.5 percent in the corresponding period last year.
