New Delhi, Jan 3 (IANS) Travellers on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses may have to shell out more as fares for both AC and

non-AC buses may be hiked by 65 percent, a government source said.

The DTC has sent a proposal to the govenrment for revising the fares, the source said.

Commuters may have to pay a maximum of Rs.25 instead of Rs.15 on low-floor non AC-buses if the proposal gets the green signal.

Currently, there are three fare slabs for non-AC low floor buses: Rs.5, Rs.10 and Rs.15 and as per the proposal, two slabs of Rs.20 and Rs.25 will be added.

Likewise, there will be six fare slabs for low floor AC buses against four currently, with the maximum fare being Rs.35 against the existing Rs.25.
